How do you find the conference experience so far?

I love the atmosphere of the conference, which is very much geared for church growth and personal support. The nations here are very enthusiastic and excited. We're also seeing the young people, the next generation, fired up about living the Vision in passion and really making a difference in the world.

How has the G12 Vision been growing in your country?

In America, it's been a little difficult, as most churches have been trained to entertain – to gather with a 'show' in mind, without discipleship, whereas discipleship is what G12 is all about! G12 offers a new pattern on how to live out your Christian life, and really follow Jesus as a disciple. Many churches in America weren't raised with that kind of mentality and culture so being introduced to the G12 Vision is a real awakening for them.

On the topic of discipleship, how do you get the young people in your church to accept and live out discipleship – the G12 way?

I believe the next generation is right on point for discipleship! When you look at Paul the Apostle, who outside of Jesus, was one of the greatest disciplers – Apostle Paul was focused on discipling a relationship. The next generation is into relationships! We've named this at Word of Life Christian Center – "Discipleship Through Relationship". Instead of giving the idea of discipleship a negative stigma through 'old-school' thinking and the implementation of ritualistic laws, we present to our young people "Discipleship – Jesus-style". Jesus' style of discipleship is joy-giving, and all his disciples were constantly excited about their destiny and living life. In fact Mark 6:12 (MSG) says, "They preached with joyful urgency that life can be radically different". I believe if ever there's a generation that wants to make a difference, it's the generation that's coming up now! I have 4 daughters, ranging from a 16 year old to a 26 year old, and they are all excited about making a difference.

So how do you make a difference and disciple the young people? The answer is: "Through a relationship!" It is only when you build and foster a relationship that you'll have the authority to speak into the person's life. What the person wants to know is that you care for them and you're really there for them, and not just giving them a bunch of rules and laws. Tell them: "I'm here to serve you, not to lord over you." Achieve a relationship with the young people and you'll find them opening up and embracing the G12 Vision.

How do you perceive the G12 Vision growing in your country over the next few years and what sort of milestones do you hope to achieve?

Looking 10 to 15 years down the road, reaching the majority of the next generation is the next milestone I hope to achieve. As a visionary, you should not only seek to achieve great things in your lifetime, but also seek to bring up what's coming behind you, which in this case is the next generation.

As the Bible warns in Judges 2:10 (MSG), "Eventually that entire generation died and was buried. Then another generation grew up that didn't know anything of God or the work he had done for Israel." The earlier generation that died was the Joshua generation – the legendary generation that conquered the territories! Yet, their fall was assuming their children would automatically follow the Lord – they didn't and an entire generation was lost!

Their children were familiar with God. They heard stories of God's wondrous deeds. They went to church on Sundays. They were religious, but they were NOT passionate! My goal is to be focussed and passionate about imparting the G12 Vision to the next generation and through that, open doors for them to make a difference in the world!

What do you think is the key message of this year's theme – Breath of Life?

Job 32:8 (NKJV) says, "But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding." I believe that through this conference, God wants each and every one of us to understand that we were born for a purpose – to live differently. How is that possible, you may ask? The Breath of Life! The power of the Holy Spirit and the breath of the Almighty – the same breath that was present in the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37 is saying to us: "Prophesy!"

The Lord is unveiling to us that there is a breath in Asia; a breath in the young people that is just waiting to be raised up! Through this conference, God is giving us vision, breathing into us passion and giving us clarity of direction – to enable us to change the nations!
