Encounter for Wheelchair-Bound

“Like everybody, handicapped people also have a need to encounter God,” said Rev Patrick Koh, pastor in charge of Special People Ministry in Faith Community Baptist Church, Singapore. “But because of their handicap, they cannot sit through three days of lessons.”

So Rev Koh organises a one-day Encounter for these Special People. The teaching focuses on Repentance, Renunciation of Sins, Restoration, Being Filled with the Holy Spirit and Baptism.

The most recent Encounter was held on 8 July for 82 participants; among them were 28 non-believers. Most of them came in wheelchairs.

The participants were very hungry for the Lord. Seven people received Christ and 21 rededicated their lives to Him at the Encounter. When Water Baptism was taught, eight people immediately requested to be baptised on the spot.

FCBC has conducted Encounters for Special People since 2003. So far, this Special Encounters are held twice a year when more than 15 people sign up.

Write to us if your church conducts special Encounters.
