A G12 Church sees revival: Bethesda Community Church Hong Kong

The Lord has blessed us tremendously this year. Even though it does not show dramatically in the numbers, the spirit of the church has been transformed, I see great growth coming.

Firstly I have almost found all my network of 12, saving only two more to go. Deborah has witnessed some changes in her 12 during 2009 but her team is growing strong. More excitingly our three cycles of alpha has turned the hearts of our people in 2009. We have many more new faces in church. In addition to our regular members, we constantly see unbelievers forming up to 30 percent of the congregation in our church. I am very thrilled about that ratio.

Prior to 2009 we were a church strong on teaching, pastoral and prophetic-intercessory anointing. During 2009, the Lord has poured out a new evangelistic anointing on us and we are now yearning for new souls in addition to our old anointing. We have grown to over 200 (if counting unbelievers 300) in membership. We know that with the consolidation and discipleship, the numbers will grow under the vision when new leaders emerge from our SOL.

Right from the start we have been a caring congregation. This year, we have seen some specific new sectoral blessings: lesbians (from zero to over 20); ex-prostitutes, elderly and mentally sick people - these groups have seen dramatic growth in numbers. Strangely enough, the church does not feel burdensome. From certain sources of information, we seem to be the only church that officially welcomes and shepherds lesbian unbelievers.

Also, we are providing spiritual covering since 2009 for two younger churches in Hong Kong and two home churches in China who are also pursuing the G12 vision.

Finally since 2009, we have seen the Lord switch our music to become more and more youth oriented. Even our elderly are dancing to the new heavy rock music added to our repertoire. I believe the youth anointing may arrive soon.

We are now following up two Hong Kong churches that show great interest in G12. And the mainland China pastors have issued a big cry for help too.
