The G12 vision has renewed and empowered my church!

Testimony of Pastor Lee Sung Bang, All Nations Church, South Korea at the International G12 Conference 2006

Hallelujah! My name is Lee Sung Bang, and I am the Senior Pastor of All Nations Church in Jeju, the southernmost island in Korea.  I am glad to meet all of you from many countries here at FCBC G12 Conference in Singapore.  I am also thankful for the fact that even though we are from different countries and regions, we gathered here with the same G12 vision.

Korea was once the land of revival, and the whole world was amazed at that. However, as a new millennium began, revival in Korean churches has been diminishing.  Therefore, many Korean pastors are praying and struggling to find methods and strategies to rekindle this dying fire of revival.  I was one of those who were seeking, but I have found the key.  That is the G12 vision and strategy.

Our church is in a region where there has never been a revival, or wind of the Holy Spirit.  It is very difficult to share our faith and for churches to prosper because of Shamanism, strong closeness of a clan society, negativism, and bitterness against Christianity.

That is why Jeju is considered the most difficult place for evangelism in all Korea.  To give you an example of how difficult it is to evangelize on our island, winning one person takes as much energy and effort as it does to win ten people in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. That has made our island the most un-evangelized region in Korea.

We started our church with seven young people ten years ago in this difficult area. Our first experience with G12 was through the MCI G12 Conference in Bogota, Col ombia.  However, it was not easy to apply the vision and strategy of G12 to our church because of the language barrier and lack of information.

However, after the International G12 Conference in Singapore last year, Pastors Richard and Jenny Ong came to our church, and they have been teaching the vision and strategy of G12 to our church leaders in detail.

Within a year we have moved from Encounter to SOL1 (School of Leaders Level 1). This included three women Encounter sessions and two men Encounter sessions.  After this conference, we are going to do SOL2 here in Singapore and then return to Korea.

Now, there are amazing blessings, revival, changed lives, and spiritual anointing at our church. Now we have become one of the five biggest churches in our city. Considering that the biggest church in our city has about 300 - 400 people on Sunday, and our church has around 350 people, isn’t that a big revival?

Our church has had a short history, compared with the other four churches in our city which have been around for seventy to eighty years. Four years ago we were reorganized as a cell church, and last year we were transformed totally into a G12 church.

Before this we had a congregation of about 200 people, but after that complete transformation to G12, we increased to 350 people. I truly believe that it is because of the grace of God and the G12 strategy.

Through G12, we were able to see a vision to harvest 20% of the population of our city that God has entrusted to us.  Now, we have less than 10% of Christians in our city, but we have seen the possibility that we can harvest 20% of the population as a church with the G12 vision and strategy.

Secondly, the blessing that God has given to our church is an anointing from God. That anointing is manifesting itself in healing, commitment and evangelism, and it is setting the hearts of our church people on fire, giving them a vision to restore the church of Acts in the 21st century.

Many people are being delivered from sins, evil spirits, wounds and curses, and our church is full of joy and excitement for that reason. This joy and excitement is leading people to a commitment to Christ and evangelism.

Thirdly, not only are we challenging the neighbouring churches with our passion, we are also giving a good impression to non-Christians in our city. And that is elevating the self-esteem of our church people.

The neighbouring churches were really surprised to see the revival that our church has experienced in this land where evangelism is very difficult. They now think that our church has received a miracle by accomplishing so much in such a short period of time. The revival of our church is becoming a challenge to local churches and motivating them to be committed to evangelism of our local community.

To the non-Christians in our town, our church is well-known as a church which is so attractive that it makes them want to come and visit.  If you take a taxi and tell the taxi driver "All Nations Church, please," they will know exactly where to go.  It is because our church people are so passionate for evangelism that it has made our church attractive to people.

P resently there have been many changes at our church, and we have experienced the anointing of the Holy Spirit and revival. I truly believe that, when our leaders are fully trained with the help of FCBC, we will be a church to bring revival back to Korea. I hope this blessing will also overflow to your churches.

I would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Richard Ong and Pastor Jenny Ong, and also to Apostle Lawrence Khong who sent those two people to our church, and to all the people at FCBC.  Thank you!
